Flying the Flag

Flying The Flag

Over the past year, a talented young climber from South Wales has been very busy training, climbing and competing all over the UK. If you follow any of this blog you will of no doubt heard of her exploits as she continues to impress everywhere she goes. I am of course referring to Rhoslyn Frugtniet.

Rhos at the British Youth Climbing Championships

Rhos has been climbing for a long time already and has been part of the Dynamic Rock Climbing Team for the past 3 years. Over this time I have seen her hard work pay off as she constantly reaches the high standards she aspires to. This year has been her biggest to date with numerous hard climbs around Europe under her belt and many hours put in on the plastic Rhos went on to win the British Youth Climbing Series. This was a major achievement in its self of which Rhos should be very proud. However, this was only the start of a fantastic run that has seen Rhos take 3rd place at the British Bouldering Championships and then 4th at the British Team trials (although 2 of the top 3 were french, so we could argue she finished 2nd) all these fantastic displays have cemented her position as one of the top young female climbers in the country with the result being her invite to join the British Climbing Team and compete at this years World Youth Championships!

This is an amazing achievement of which we are all very proud, Every one at Dynamic Rock and I'm sure all over South Wales wishes Rhos all the best in this and all her future challenges.

happy climbing
