| Dynamic Rock is Open!Thursday 2nd March 2006 It has been nearly a month now of trading, and we are up to 450 registered members. There is still a way to go, but with the feedback we have been getting, we doubt it will be very long until we make our target of 1000. On Saturday 18th Feb, we hosted the first even Welsh Universities inter mural bouldering competition. Teams from a variety of Welsh universities attended, including Swansea, Cardiff, Aberystwyth and Glamorgan. 45 students competed on 25 problems, ranging from the more amenable to the downright unpleasant.
The day ran smoothly with a friendly competitive atmosphere. With three categories at stake, male, female and team, every one eagerly watched one another trying to catch a sneaky beta to make sure they flashed the route. 
After the five hours were up and very sore finger tips, the results were in, with Swansea University taking a clean sweep of all three categories, with Cardiff Uni, and Aberystwyth in close runner up positions. 
The winners and runners up received gear prizes generously donated from Leisure Quest an outdoor shop in Swansea. After the success of the event, hopefully this will mark the start of an annual competition between the students of Wales, as well as a regular bouldering league for local (and visiting) climbers.
